Village of Luh and the
Tisza River
Here is a small
picture of the Tisza River and part of the small village of Luh. Women used
to wash clothes on the banks of this river.Loggers would come down the river
riding on huge logs guiding them to market in Hungary.Every Saturday many Jews would take a
Sabbath Walk along the banks of this river. The landscape is beautiful full of
rich fertile earth, forests, mountains, and hills. There are many wild animals here
like bears, wolf, and deer. There are many farmers and herders of sheep, goat, and
other cattle.
The following few images were taken
on the Tisza River in the Carpathian Mountains. This is the scene the family
saw as they would often watch the men performing the dangerous task of
bringing the logs down the Tisza River by hand to Hungary where the wood was
sold.
